I’m prepping a 5 acres section for septic, trenching, and a 16x40 foundation. I’ve got a 47hp Ford tractor, but I’m struggling to pick the right digging tool.
I’m thinking about JCB 3CX, I’d love to hear if it’s worth the investment, or if there any better options?

I once thought bigger was better and rented a backhoe. Ended up just moving stuff around all weekend. A JCB 3CX is cool, but be sure you need all that power.

When I was prepping my shed slab, I also stressed about tools. I ended up with a mini-excavator and never looked back. A 3CX is good, but look at resale value and attachments first.

Had an old Ford like yours and once wished for a magic wand instead of a digger. A 3CX will do the job, but if you just need to dig trenches, a smaller excavator might save you some money.
