I'm trying to give my Midi CX a new lease on life for some tree cleanup work. The backhoe is still on, but I'm in a bit of a bind because I need a 3-point linkage to attach a chipper. The folks at JCB want a whopping $3,000 for it, which is a little hard to swallow! If anyone has found a more budget-friendly solution or a universal kit that would work, I'd love to hear your tips. Thanks a bunch

I hear you on that price tag! Try to check if you can find a universal 3-point hitch kit from Titan Attachments. It won't be a direct bolt-on, so you'd need to fabricate an adapter plate to mount it where the backhoe came off. It's actually a common and budget-friendly solution. Other places to check would be eBay and other used machinery sites. Just be sure to check the part numbers match up before you buy!

Totally doable without paying JCB’s price using a universal 3 point kit and some plate work to tie into the subframe. As long as you match geometry and reinforce the mounts, it works great and costs a fraction of OEM

Hey, just double-check that the PTO shaft lines up right and that the splines match. Some universal kits might sit a bit higher or lower than the original, and that could lead to the chipper driveline binding or wearing out too soon.
