Early project fails that still make you chuckle

I’ve had my own JCB mishaps, like trying to tackle a tricky lift and winding up in a muddy mess. What about you? What early machine fails had you shaking your head initially but laughing about later?

During my first week using the backhoe, I accidentally dug straight through a hidden sprinkler line. Water was shooting everywhere like a fountain. I called a friend, panicking, and he just laughed at me. Spent the whole afternoon fixing it now, I always call before I dig.

I backed my skid steer into a fence post because I wasn't paying attention to my mirror. I snapped it right off of course, it was the neighbor's fence. Had to replace the whole section, and I still hear about it.

Got my bucket stuck under a huge root ball while trying to pull a stump.
The tractor started lifting off the ground before I even realized what was happening.
Had to call a friend with a bigger machine for help, definitely a rookie mistake
