What’s your must-have checklist for prepping a JCB for winter work? Are there certain fluids, tires, or batteries you rely on?
The absolute must-do checklist for me starts with the fluids! Check your coolant with a refractometer, and aim for protection down to at least -30C. Switch to a low-viscosity engine oil like 5W-40 or 0W-40 synthetic for easier cold starts. Battery-wise, load test it, clean and grease the terminals. A weak battery will fail when it’s freezing. Maintain correct tire pressure for stability, use chains for real ice or snow. Add diesel anti-gel treatment, and finally, make sure your cab heater works! What’s your must-have checklist for prepping a JCB for winter work?
