It’s time to shake off the holiday rust and get your JCB ready for action again. After sitting idle for a while, what’s the first thing you check to ensure everything’s in order before hitting the road?
What I like to do is just take a quick walk around and look for any leaks. One spring, I started mine up without looking, and later on, I found a nice little puddle under the boom. Now, I always make sure to check everything before I start working.
You know, for me, it's all about that battery. A while ago, my JCB sat way longer than I meant it to, and the battery barely had enough power to even start up. Ever since then, I give it a quick test before I even think about moving anything.
Okay, so the very first thing I do? Check those fluids. Learned my lesson the hard way when my machine sat all winter, and the hydraulic oil was super low. Now, it's the first thing I check, no doubt.
