2011 JCB 3CX charging issue warning lights on throttle input

I just got a used 2011 3CX last month, and I've hit my first snag. The machine starts and idles just fine, but as soon as I give it some gas, the warning and battery lights pop on. The engine seems OK, but those lights worry me.

Has anyone seen this before? I'm thinking it might be the alternator or maybe the voltage regulator, but I'd like to get some advice before I start replacing parts. The machine's got around 4,800 hours on it. Any tips would be great.

That's a sign of a failing alternator. But before replacing that, I suggest you check the drive belt tension and inspect all electrical connections to and from the alternator for any signs of corrosion or looseness. If those check out, the issue is almost certainly an internal failure within the alternator itself, such as a bad voltage regulator or worn brushes. You can confirm this with a professional diagnostic test before you purchase a new part.

That is an early sign of alternator trouble, use a voltmeter on the battery, if it’s not climbing with revs, the alternator or regulator is likely the culprit and honestly, its kinda common
