Transmission gone on bud’s JCB 1400B

Old pal's 1400B started slipping last week and reverse won't engage at all now. We're out in Tulsa and it's been hitting triple digits lately so we're trying to sort this out quick before moving gravel on a job site. Anyone had luck sourcing rebuilt transmissions around the Midwest or know if early 1400 series share the same gearbox?

Tough one, especially with the heat. Rebuilt transmissions for the 1400B can be hard to find around here, but some dealers or salvage yards in the Midwest might have them. Early 1400 models usually share similar gearboxes, so you might be able to use one from another.

Thanks for the info! Do you know if the gearboxes are completely interchangeable between early 1400 models or are there any differences we should watch out for? We're trying to get this sorted by next week since we start the jobsite Monday. Do you think a salvage yard would be our fastest option or should we try contacting dealers directly?
