Suction hose strainer replacement on a 2020 JCB 8052

Hi guys. I'm swapping out the suction hose strainer on my 2020 JCB 8052 excavator. Has anyone done this before? Any tips on the best way, or things to watch out for?

Make sure the area's depressurized first, and keep a clean rag handy to catch any drips. A bit of patience loosening the clamps helps prevent damage.

I changed the suction strainer on my 2019 JCB 8052 last summer during a full fluid check. The hose came from the bottom back of the tank, and it was hard to reach so I had to go in behind the engine. My best tip is to cover the hose ends right away so dirt doesn't get in, and keep a pan ready because the fluid comes out fast. Also, make sure the new strainer fits well before you tighten it. That saved me from taking it apart again.

Make sure the system is fully depressurized before removing the strainer and then check the gasket or O ring and clean the mating surfaces, replacing the strainer is straightforward if you take your time and avoid leaks.

Just a tip, if you're working in a tight space near the foundation of the tank, try having a flexible camera or mirror to see what you're doing. Seriously helps when you can't see much
