JCB JS160 stuck mid throttle reset

I’m running into a wall with a throttle reset on my JCB JS160. I was trying to dial in my RPMs before diving into some hydraulic issues, so I followed the dealer's CAPS reset steps
Everything goes fine until I hit the cushion button to start the autotune the machine revs up to full throttle for Heavy mode and then just... stays there it won't move to the next step or adjust the RPMs at all, even after 20 minutes. no fault codes, and the flywheel sensor looks fresh
now I’m stuck in limbo. the throttle only reacts after it's halfway open, and my digging modes are totally offline has anyone dealt with the CAPS system hanging like this? What am I missing?

I bet it's a wiring issue. you need to inspect all relevant wiring and connectors. Wiggle the harnesses while observing if there is any change in the machine's behavior (with the engine off of course)

One time after a crazy long shift, the CAPS on this thing just totally froze up mid-song and started acting all weird. Turns out, it was just a loose connector on the throttle pot messing with it. Looked okay, but wasn't. CAPS really doesn't like mixed signals.

Yeah, I had a JS do the same thing once. Hung at full blast after an auto-tune. The dealer said it was a software thing, but turning it off and then back on, and recalibrating it with the hydraulics off, finally got it working again. Annoying, but at least I fixed it.

I had something along those lines happen last winter, trying to figure out some hydraulic issues. The CAPS wouldn’t go down either. It ended up being a bad ground near the ECU everything seemed okay until it didn't. Just another typical JCB thing.
