Jcb 212s just bought , trying to figure out how to get into 4 wheel drive , need some advice !

Hi , i just purchased a 2000 212s backhoe, love the machine trying to get some advice and input on the machine. cant figure out how to get it into and out of 4wheel ? Cant get it to go any faster in 3rd and 4th gear , going down the road than when it’s in 2nd gear ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated . Thx

Thank you , i love the machine . We have a small hobby farm and have lots of heavy equipment thought the years , we are in the woods a lot , so the size of this machine is much easier to use vs full size hoe. I live near buffalo ny , with lots of heavy snow this year , we are trying to use the machine to move some snow around, does not seem to be in 4 wheel , or its not a full lock system . Is there a way of putting this into 4 wheel drive or is it always in 4 wheel . It apprears the right front is spinning but not the left , same with rear , seems like only one tire is spinning ? Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Thx

Also we are running between my daughters place a mile down the road and my place and it does not seem to be going any faster in 3rd or 4th gear than second gear ? Any thoughts on what could be wrong. The machine only has about 1300 hours on it and previous owner did not use it much . We just changed every fluid and filter on the machine with Jcb oem products . Trying to go up slight grade on the road in 3rd gear machine almost stopped entirely , had to shift to second gear to get it to move up the hill . Any ideas on what might be wrong ?
 
Awesome you're liking it! You're spot on with the questions it probably has something to do with the drivetrain and how it shifts gears. A few of us with 212s have seen stuff like this, so we'll help you figure it out.
