Having issues with your JCB not starting after a night of downtime?

You walk in the next morning turn the key and nothing happens even though it was running smoothly just the day before. Before you reach out for help what quick checks do you usually do? Do you check the battery look at the grounds, ensure the fuel is primed, check the safety switches or is there something else that tends to be overlooked?

It happened to me one cold morning. I always check the battery and those terminals first. A loose or dirty wire has tricked me before, making me think something big broke overnight.

I take a sec to check the easy stuff that I think I already checked. Like, is the PTO off? Is the seat switch working? Did I tighten the battery cables? These machines like to show us we're human before they let us get to work.

No lead up here I'd start with the simple stuff, like turning the key and listening for clicks.
Then, I'd check the neutral and safety switches, followed by the fuel shutoff.
Most of the time, it's just some small, annoying thing causing the problem.

I learned this the hard way after chasing down problems for an hour. Now, I check the grounds early, mostly the frame to the engine. A loose ground wire will make a good machine look dead.

When everything was running fine all day, I usually guess it's about gas first.
I pump it quick and peek at the filter for air.
That saves me from getting into the wiring too fast
