Been going back and forth between using a compact JCB and a full-sized one for my recent jobs and honestly I often find myself guessing which option will make me look more pro. How do you all figure out when it's time to go for the smaller machine instead of bringing out the big guy?

I tend to choose the one that's been getting less work lately. So big machine for big jobs, small machine for small jobs and when I'm not sure i pick the one that I didn't use last. It just means there's less chance of it not starting the next time when the cobwebs are kept out of both.

Great strategy. Rotating like that keeps both machines in top shape and ready for action, plus it helps you dodge any 'cobweb surprises' the next time you need them.
