I’m looking at my tires, trying to figure out if they’re inflated just right, but my gauge seems a bit untrustworthy.
What’s your favorite method for checking tire pressure when you’re not completely confident in your gauge?
Let’s hear your tips.

I’ve definitely had my fair share of cheap gauges that let me down. What I rely on now? A finger squeeze combined with a quick tap test if it feels a bit spongy, it’s time to add some air. But if it springs back like a trampoline, you’re probably in the clear. It’s a fast and reliable method when you’re on the job.

Sometimes, I just take a look while giving the rig a gentle bounce. It’s not the most precise method, but after years of driving on dirt and gravel, you get a feel for how much a tire should flex. If you’re ever in doubt, just add a couple of PSI, and you’ll usually be just fine.

Here’s an old trick I picked up from my days on the farm: always carry two gauges.
If they both show the same reading, you’re in great shape. If they don’t match, trust the lower one and do a quick check after a short drive. Cheap gauges can be a hassle, but having a backup really takes the pressure off.
