This may be common knowledge. But I’m new to the backhoe game so I just wanted to share some of my findings just in case it might help somebody else out there. I’m sharing this info from what I researched to the best of my abilities. I just wanna mention it is possible that a piece of information I may not be 110% correct. If not, hopefully a kind fellow member chimes in and corrects me. 2006 seems to be an interesting year for JCB around that time is when they were transferring from the Perkins to the new JCB motor. If you were to look up online, what motor a 2006 JCB 3C 14 foot backhoe had there’s about a 95% chance that it’s gonna tell you it has the Perkins. Now this may be true for some of the 2006s but mine just so happens to be a 2006 and the stamp is December 13, 2006 so it’s the end of 2006. If you were like me and wondering, what the difference between the 3C and the 3CX is. Basically your Ford lariat edition versus your Ford work truck edition so I’m assuming the manuals can be somewhat interchangeable to an extent as long as the components match up for instance the type of transmission it is, type of controls. Etc. It did mention something odd that the 3CJCB motor had a standard 92 hp and then somewhere else that mentioned a standard 78 hp but on the 3CX it mentioned 70 something horsepower to upwards of 100 hp so I don’t know exactly what they do to the variations of the motor to have differing outputs. I’m like many of the unfortunate ones who worked out an arm and a leg only to receive a backhoe without an owners manual. I know as much as I need it. It’s hard for me to spend any more money in that direction right now so I’m kind of bouncing around for info. If any member has anything further to add please do.
