Electrical issues in JZ140

Hi all
I have JZ140 2007 excavator and some issues.

Previous owners have changed the configuration in many ways and I'm trying to both fix some issues and restore the original setup.

Issue nr 1
Throttle is on/off. The automated throttle control has been replaced with switch that does full rpm's only by replacing original wires to throttle solenoid. That's why I see AMS error message 110 all the time. I guess the issue is with the throttle level sensor or throttle solenoid because RPM's are shown.

Issue nr 2
Stop solenoid replaced with old fachion wire & knob. No idea why this has been done so the original electrical version with stop solenoid is gone. No idea what parts should be bought to restore this, since onky the baracket is remaining.

Issue nr 3
Fuel cauge is not working - tank is empty all the time. Looks like the tank sensor is working just fine and wires are also in good condition. Meter is giving correct reading in C2, but AMS is not showing the probe level.

Issue nr 4
Beacon connector, where is it?

Issue nr 5
Horn is not working.

Any idea how to start fixing these? How could I test fuel meter is working fine?

Replying the status.

Seems the throttle position sensor is not working. I have ordered one from the eloshop and now waiting to the delivery in 8 weeks time.

Fuel cauge is mystery. I bought new cauge and fuel level is shown correctly in it. Also wiring goes to the ECU properly so no issue there. Any ideas?

It sounds like you're wrestling with a true hornet's nest of electrical modifications, Jari. Good work on tracking down that throttle sensor issue. For the ongoing fuel gauge mystery and the other electrical gremlins, an original factory service manual with detailed wiring diagrams would be worth its weight in gold to properly trace those circuits.

Absolutely right, having a factory service manual can really make a difference when you're trying to track down pesky electrical issues like that. Great job staying on it Jari

Oh.. if you've got working readings on the gauge but not the AMS, it might be the display unit or communication line with an issue. Do you have a diagram with you? Test every connection really carefully.

Sorry for jumping in late. Okay, so the AMS isn't getting any signals. Could be a CAN bus glitch or a busted wire somewhere. Better check if the signal is flowing correctly from the sensor all the way to the AMS.

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately have not been able to solve this and wondering if the ecu could have an issue. Its annoying to see empty tank message all the time...
